Maggie grew up along the shores of Prince Edward Island and now finds herself working as the GIS and Database Manager for Living Lakes Canada. She first moved west to BC in 2015 to attend Selkirk College, where she completed the Recreation, Fish and Wildlife program followed by an Advanced Diploma in GIS. It was through this experience—and a co-op with the Columbia Basin Watershed Network—that her interest in open data and community-based water monitoring took shape. For the past three years, Maggie has led the development and management of The Columbia Basin Water Hub that helps communities across the basin access and share information about their watersheds. She’s passionate about making water data more open, usable, and meaningful for the people who need it most.
