It’s quite a hike to reach this unnamed mountain lake in Banff National Park, but definitely worth the effort during golden larch season, when the surrounding forest turns bright gold for a several days before the needles drop to the ground. We have been to very few lakes where the shoreline vegetation is predominately larch trees. On a sunny late September day, this is a gem of a spot with bright blue/gold on display – a balm for the spirit.
