Join us on September 27th, 2022 from 7-8 PM for an evening of exploring watershed health and the Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Framework. The Framework is an innovative step towards understanding the impacts of the climate crisis on our most precious resource: water. As we look towards a warmer future with more extreme weather events of flood and forest fire and disappearing glaciers, our water availability will fundamentally change. This project aims to support Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities and decision makers in understanding what water quantity there will be in the Columbia Basin, and how water might be allocated to support livelihoods and ecosystems. Information on the Columbia Basin’s hydrologic regions and the watersheds they support will also be shared, including glaciers, high elevation streams and lakes, and groundwater.
