Participants will learn about the National Lake Blitz, Living Lakes Canada’s newest national water stewardship program, and how it can help you make citizen science, water testing, and data collection a staple in your classroom, home, or family life! This online workshop is presented in partnership with Living Lakes Canada and the Non-Profit Outdoor Learning Store.
The goal of the National Lake Blitz is to encourage widespread water monitoring of lakes by using simple tools that help people easily understand the impacts of climate change on freshwater lakes.
National Lake Blitz Program Coordinator, Camille LeBlanc, will show you how your students and their families can get involved in this new and exciting entry-level citizen science program taking place in communities across Canada.
Jade Harvey-Berrill from the Outdoor Learning Store will then share the best tools and resources available for you to utilize at school or home to deepen your knowledge about water and its importance, investigate water quality, and continue with citizen science year round, helping you to contribute to water stewardship across Canada!
