The series of learning modules for a “Conservation Ambassador Training” is intended to take KCP’s Stewardship Solution Toolkit to the next level by encouraging peer-learning for stewardship practitioners on a variety of themes. Topics of interest come from KCP partners who are stewardship representatives from organizations who work with private landowners and also from consultants working on riparian, wetland, grassland, etc. restoration projects that want to better understand how to provide more holistic field assessments for landowners and on-the-ground practical solutions.

The goal of these trainings is to focus on the practical side of being a land and water steward by providing advice on how to spot opportunities (i.e., a search image) and open up a conversation with landowners and land managers. The leaders of the training modules will share relevant information, case studies of BMPs, innovative techniques, etc. to help fellow practitioners become more knowledgeable when they are out doing their work. Georgia Peck with Living Lakes Canada and Camile Leblanc with Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society will be presenting on June 9th under the following title: Stewarding for Water & Wet Habitats During Climate Change.
