This event is a half-day workshop hosted at a Volunteer Observation Well (VOW) located in Cranbrook, B.C. This VOW is an existing monitoring well that is part of the Living Lakes Canada Groundwater Monitoring Program network.
The workshop will be co-facilitated by faculty from the College of the Rockies and Living Lakes Canada, with required equipment being supplied by Living Lakes Canada. The workshop will provide College of the Rockies Environmental Science students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with practical application. Students will have the chance to use monitoring equipment to measure water levels in the well, download the data and gain valuable field experience.
This collaboration will promote mentorship in the environmental field and community while increasing knowledge related to groundwater resources.
