Watershed Workshop with the University of Calgary

The Watershed Workshop will take participants on an exploration of their local watershed to understand how the condition of the aquatic environment changes as water interacts with different types of land use. The workshop will take participants to 1-2 sites where monitoring of water quality and quantity will be conducted and biological samples will be collected.

The collection of data will be used to guide conversations about how various monitoring tools support the understanding of the influences of human activity on the aquatic ecosystem. Through observation of human activity in the watershed, discussion will focus on expanding our understanding of the influence from these activities on freshwater health.
