In this 1-hour session, we will be joined by Lake Blitz Volunteer Nancy Stadler-Salt, Great Lakes Issue Coordinator with Environment and Climate Change Canada. Nancy leads the development of the binational State of the Great Lake Reports for Canada.

Participants will learn how citizen science is being used to understand the health and biodiversity of the Great Lakes and how the wildlife and invasive species data that volunteers collect through different programs are being used in these reports.

Join this session and get inspired for our 2023 Lake Blitz sampling season! There will be plenty of time to ask questions about this topic and the Lake Blitz monitoring protocol in general.

Guest speaker, Nancy Stadler-Salt, is a Lake Blitz volunteer and the Great Lakes Issue Coordinator with Environment and Climate Change Canada. Nancy will share how data collected through various citizen science programs contributes to the joint Canada-U.S. State of the Great Lakes report.
