Kat Hartwig

We are pleased to announce that Living Lakes Canada Executive Director Kat Hartwig will be one of the panelists for the Canada Water Agency BC Freshwater Forum taking place on February 16.

This Regional Freshwater Forum — one of six forums being held across the country — will engage stakeholders and the interested public in BC on region-specific freshwater issues and provide an opportunity to the public to discuss their thoughts on opportunities to improve freshwater management through the creation of a Canada Water Agency. Panel members will be sharing their thoughts on the key freshwater issues and the biggest freshwater challenges in British Columbia. Kat will be providing a perspective on Community Based Water Monitoring.

Forum registration will close on February 12, 2021. This forum will be a half day virtual event on Tuesday, February 16 starting at 10 am PT / 11 am MT and ending at approximately 3:45 pm PT / 4:45 MT.

The panel session will take place from approximately 10:55 am to 12:10 pm PT (pending slight modification in the final agenda).

After a break, the afternoon will be dedicated to concurrent breakout sessions, where participants can discuss issues, consider questions from the ECCC discussion paper “Toward Creation of a Canada Water Agency” and provide thoughts on opportunities to improve freshwater management through the creation of a federal Canada Water Agency.
