Alumni

With a strong background in science and leadership and a passion for environmental conservation and community engagement, Sally was a great addition to the Living Lakes Canada team.

Within her role as Lakes Program Coordinator, Sally helped organize interdisciplinary projects across B.C. and the Yukon, working closely with First Nations, all levels of government, community groups, academia, and industry to help build local community capacity for water stewardship. She developed and facilitated workshops on water quality monitoring, supported fundraising, developed new partnerships, and organized in-person and virtual events including a Yukon Lakes Virtual Roundtable and the Celebrating the Lakes event.

When asked about her biggest takeaway from her time with Living Lakes, Sally responded, “the importance of collaboration and working together across sectors and knowledge systems to employ innovative solutions to protect freshwater.”

Sally has since gone on to join Source Environmental Associates in North Vancouver as an Environmental Consultant. She works on natural resource projects across B.C., supporting technical reviews and impact analyses. She also supports the development of water monitoring and management frameworks to support Indigenous Water Law.

My passion for protecting freshwater that was fostered at Living Lakes strongly influences my work today,” said Sally.

Our team wishes Sally the very best as she continues to advocate for responsible freshwater management.
