Girls on Ice Canada – Kootenay Expedition

The Girls on Ice Canada – Kootenay Expedition is a 12 day expedition led by female guides and scientists hosted by Inspiring Girls Expeditions in partnership with Wildsight and Living Lakes Canada. The aim of the program is to empower young people that identify as female by providing them the opportunity to practice leadership skills, push themselves in the outdoors, and learn about ways in which they can interact with the outdoor environment.

Living Lakes Canada’s High Elevation Monitoring Program Manager Heather Shaw will be helping to facilitate this event as a guest scientist. She will share her knowledge and passion of the outdoors by providing participants with an interactive lesson involving assessing the chemical and biological parameters of alpine streams and lakes in the Kokanee region.
