Selena grew up in Calgary, AB, where they spent many hours staring at the ground collecting rocks and looking up at the sky, watching clouds and thunderstorms—fueling a passion for the environment and a dream of becoming part geologist, part storm chaser.

Their passion led them to pursue a B.A., majoring in physical geography with a minor in English, at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, where they found their calling in hydrology. They then went on to complete an M.Sc. in hydrology at the University of Saskatchewan, where they studied changes in groundwater levels resulting from rainfall events—ultimately combining their love of the ground, water, and sky.

Selena is excited to be part of the Living Lakes team as the Groundwater Program Manager and to help advance understanding and awareness of groundwater resources in Western Canada.
