Did you notice that your lake usage was restricted this year?

“Eutrophication” is the excess of nutrients – phosphorus & nitrogen – in our waterways. They are byproducts of animal agriculture. Manure from animal agriculture seeps into our water sources and create algae blooms. The algae blocks sunlight and oxygen from the underwater ecosystem that relies on it, creating “Dead Zones”. These Dead Zones harm biodiversity, put human health at risk, and limit the available clean drinking water – which is already becoming scarce. Heavier rainfalls increase incidence of such water pollution as well, resulting health risks to humans.
