Location: Algonquin Park, Ont./Ont.This is a photo of an island on Opeongo Lake in Algonquin that was destroyed by a Microburst in June of 2025. For years campers enjoyed the solace and exclusivity of this island, which is now inaccessible. Many other locations on the lake were effected by this storm, which was an eerie feeling when canoeing paste the carnage. A clear example of climate change and the importance of preserving not just our lakes, but our world in general.
