Canada Water Week is a week-long celebration of water from coast-to-coast-to-coast that coincides with UN World Water day in March every year. Individuals, organizations and governments host events across the country to raise the profile of water and its importance to Canada’s future.There are four major watersheds in Canada: the Atlantic, the Hudson Bay, the Arctic, and the Pacific. The largest of these is the Arctic Watershed, which includes the Mackenzie River Basin, covering 1.8 million sq. km and draining 18 % of Canada’s landmass. There are hundreds of smaller sub-watersheds throughout Canada that drain into our local lakes, rivers and streams. Want to find yours?
