A former elected official with the Regional District of East Kootenay for a decade, serving as Vice Chair for 6 years, Wendy has extensive experience in board governance and strategic planning. Having been a Director and Vice Chair of Columbia Basin Trust for many years, she has a keen passion for community development and working with communities throughout the region. She served as an Executive Member of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities for several years, most recently as President concluding in Sept 2018.  She has been appointed as a Director of the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program for the Columbia Region, Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation and Fraser Basin Council. In addition, she volunteers as the Chair of the Columbia Valley Community Foundation and Treasurer of Community Futures East Kootenay.  

She currently works as a consultant, providing guidance and direction to non-profits as well as community development projects. As a former owner of a white-water rafting company combined with a business degree, she has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys spending her free time outside in the Kootenays whether it be skiing, golfing or on the water.  Wendy Booth has lived in the Columbia Valley for 25 years, calling Fairmont Hot Springs home with her husband and black labrador retrievers.
