Trinda was born and raised in the East Kootenays in the small town of Invermere BC, which is on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa People, and the chosen home of the Métis. Trinda is a member of both the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa People and grew up around nature and water, spending most of her time swimming in lakes and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. She found a passion early on for protecting the land she grew up on and desired to make a change. As a member of the Shuswap Band, she has always strived to support her Indigenous community in any way she can, and being the Indigenous Youth Ambassador for Living Lakes Canada was the perfect role for her.
Trinda now resides on the traditional Treaty 7 territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation in Calgary Alberta where she will continue to pursue her education about water stewardship and provide her Indigenous youthful lens in all aspects.
