Sophie grew up in Quebec where she spent her summers camping and winters cross-country skiing. She graduated from the University of Montreal with a Bachelor of Civil Law in 2014 and has been called to the Quebec Bar since 2015. She also graduated from the University of Sherbrooke with a Master of Environmental Management in 2020. She developed a keen interest in the relation between human and nature rights, and the sustainable management of natural resources through community engagement, and cooperation approaches. The issue of climate change and the pressure it exerts on aquatic ecosystems is of particular interest to her.

Feeling drawn to the ocean and the lush forest, she is now living in the temperate rainforest of Ucluelet, B.C. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, surfing, and gardening. Today, she holds the position of Lakes Program Coordinator where she contributes to the empowerment of communities towards building a water stewardship ethic and educating stakeholders about the anthropogenic activities affecting freshwater bodies in the Columbia River Basin and beyond.
