PJ was born and raised in Southern Ontario. He lived in the Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton region most summers, spending lots of time outdoors swimming, kayaking, fishing, bug collecting, and hiking.

Originally, he pursued a career in marketing, completing a technical diploma in Business Marketing from Georgian College in 2016. After several months in the industry, he decided it wasn’t for him. PJ worked a variety of jobs for several years before moving to the West Kootenays in 2021.

In 2022, he worked as a Mosquito Surveyor for Morrow BioScience in Grand Forks, B.C. Recently, he completed the Integrated Environmental Planning Diploma at Selkirk College and is looking forward to spending a few years in the field before eventually returning to school. He is a Water Monitoring Coordinator for the High Elevation Monitoring program and the Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Framework program.
