Currently on maternity leave, Heather has been involved in community-based watershed monitoring and stewardship in the Columbia Basin since 2005. As Operations Director for Living Lakes Canada, she works with individuals and groups to build knowledge and implement citizen science monitoring programs that inform policy and support watershed conservation. Heather is Chair of the Kootenay Lake Partnership and has been involved in Sensitive Habitat Inventory Mapping projects for 13 lakes in British Columbia and Alberta. Heather holds a degree in Environmental Studies and Geography, and is a certified Streamkeepers Instructor and field instructor for the Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network. She is finalizing her Master of Science at the University of New Brunswick and lives with her family in Nelson, BC.
