Ben grew up on the East Coast in Rothesay, New Brunswick, and spent most of his childhood on the Saint John River. The river was his main source of entertainment and inspiration. His favourite memories are swimming, paddling, camping, boating and exploring the river valley forests.

After leaving NB to travel and explore Canada, his passion for nature and the outdoors led him to pursue a BA in Environmental Studies with a minor in Geography from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

After spending his summers conducting remote fieldwork across Nova Scotia and exploring its forests and rugged coastline, Ben decided to embark on a new adventure and head west to the mountains. Finally landing in Invermere, Ben spends most of his time exploring the mountains, skiing, camping, walking his dog, and enjoying the very different Western landscape.

Ben is thrilled to begin his new role as a Program Coordinator for the Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Framework. He hopes to discover and implement sustainable solutions to climate change issues in his new home in British Columbia.
