Location: Long Sault Parkway, Ont./Ont.

The Long Sault Parkway is a series of islands on the St. Lawrence River, in the portion known as Lake St. Lawrence. The area was flooded with the construction of the Moses Saunders dam, inundating ten communities now known as the lost villages. The drowned hilltops form a unique and picturesque island chain linked by a road, and the sheltered area within remained covered in ice long after the rest of the reservoir has melted.
