Windermere Creek Elder Engagement and Site Tour

This event will take place at Windermere Creek in Windermere, B.C. Indigenous Elders from local communities will be invited with the goal of encouraging their involvement in our Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Framework project.

With this project, Living Lakes Canada aims to collect local water concerns and priorities to help choose sites for the installation of water monitoring equipment. We have three pilots running in three different Hydrological Regions in the Basin: one in the West Kootenay, one in the Elk Valley, and one in the Columbia Valley. This framework will allow us to have a better understanding of how climate change is affecting our fresh water sources and supply.
