Living Lakes Canada will be hosting a booth at the McKim Middle School in Kimberley, B.C. on May 13th as part of The Future Is Now event. This two part event aims to highlight the need for innovation, action and hope to ensure a bright future for our youth. The morning session, taking place from 9:30am-12pm MT, will be a closed event for invited schools, while the 6pm-7pm MT innovation fair in the evening will be open to the general public upon ticket purchase.
We invite you to visit our booth to learn more about our youth-focused programming and actions that young people can take to both protect freshwater locally and help ease climate change anxiety. Visitors will also have the chance to win great prizes!
Bob McDonald, the esteemed author, science journalist, CBC Radio Host and renowned environmental advocate will be the keynote speaker for this gathering. The Future Is Now is a collaborative event between several organizations including Mount Baker Secondary School, Selkirk Secondary School, the City of Kimberley, the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce and a number of supporting organizations to raise awareness around sustainable practices and inspire action towards building a resilient and sustainable future for our community.
