This iTrackDNA field training and monitoring event with Blueberry River First Nations (BRFN) and Targeted eDNA expert Jared Hobbs aims to develop community-based capacity for eDNA monitoring. Information gathered through iTrackDNA will help inform conservation and restoration decisions and improve ecosystem assessment and management.

In partnership with BRFN – and guided by Jared Hobbs, Living Lakes Canada co-developed the field training and study design for this event.

This training follows meaningful community engagement throughout 2022. With funding support from Living Lakes Canada, BRFN engaged family focus groups to better understand culturally-important species and locations for eDNA monitoring.
