Earth Day Watershed Discovery with Living Lakes Canada

For Earth Day, this year Living Lakes Canada is hosting an Earth Day Watershed Discovery event!
Here at Living Lakes Canada we were inspired by the theme of this year’s Earth Day – “Invest in Our Planet” – and so we decided to invest our time into the future of our youth and our freshwater by hosting an event that will introduce local youth to basic water monitoring principles and practices.
We are excited to have the Kimberley Youth Action Network and ʔaq̓am‘s Guardians in Training join us for this two day event running from April 22nd to the 23rd. Youth participants will be learning:
– How to measure water flow and quality
– How to identify different wetland types and why they are important
– What aquifers are and how they work
– How to measure climate change impacts on lakes
– And more!
