Growing up in Calgary with the Rocky Mountains at her backdoor, Renee's love for nature and understanding of the importance of conserving and preserving ecosystem health lead her to pursue a B.Sc. in Physical Geography at the University of Calgary, completing Co-operative work terms in water apportionment, landscape ecology and GIS. Her desire to learn took her to the University of Western Ontario where she completed a M.Sc. in Physical Geography, studying the relationship between human activities and water quality in tributaries of the Great Lakes.

After spending time with Federal and Provincial governments monitoring water quantity and quality, her love for the Kootenay region and the immense landscapes and adventure it holds, she is continuing her journey with Living Lakes Canada. Renee is joining the Living Lakes team as a Water Monitoring Program Coordinator in the Columbia Basin where she is excited to support hydrometric, groundwater and community based monitoring initiatives, empowering individuals with tools to build more resilient communities.

Biking, paddling or in the garden are usually where you can find her, unless it is winter in which case she’s probably lost on her skis or carving out a tobogganing track with her 80’s neon ‘Saucer’.
