Title of Position: Finance Manager
Hours: 32-40 hrs/week
Wage: $60,000 – $70,000 – commensurate with experience
Location: Remote work position (with preference for a Kootenay, B.C. location)

What you bring to the organization:
- You will bring exceptional financial leadership to our growing NGO.
- You are a collaborative team player who will work with program managers in all matters related to the finance of our individual program streams.
- You will work closely with Living Lakes Canada senior management team, presenting and advising on all financial matters.
Responsibilities:
- 3 years minimum previous experience in an accounting role
- Post-secondary education (college, university, or professional designation level) in accounting/finance
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of auditing, accounting, revenue accounting, internal controls, staff management, payroll and cost accounting principles and practices
- Experience of analyzing financial data for statement preparation and to support management decisions
- Experience of working with senior staff and leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial reporting programs, internal controls, accounting databases, financial policies and procedures
- Experience with NGO/not-for-profit sector a distinct advantage
- Strong analytic, financial modelling and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and drive projects to completion
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams, dive deep into the details, and being able to communicate key metrics to management in a timely manner
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with Quickbooks and Google suite
Overview of job function:
- Work with staff to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization
- Deliver sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures appropriate for our charitable organization
- Work with staff, senior management and the Board to prepare a comprehensive annual budget
- Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization
- Provide the Board and staff with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the organization
- Lead the organization in its relationship with the Canada Revenue Agency as appropriate
- Ensure that the organization complies with all legislation covering taxation and withholding payments
- Liaise with the Auditor and prepare all materials for an annual organization audit
- Review and revise appropriately all organizational fiscal controls and processes
- Deliver semi-monthly payroll for organization staff
- Deliver semi-monthly staff expense and 3rd party invoice payment schedule
- Collaborate with program managers and management to deliver appropriate contracts for staff and 3rd party contractors
- Onboard new staff with appropriate financial protocols
- With senior management and board treasurer, make annual pay review recommendations
- With senior management and board treasurer, develop a financial package for all new staff positions
- Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve program financial literacy
- Work with staff to prepare financial proposals for funding opportunity submissions
- Manage funding reporting administration, tracking deadlines, providing timely reminders to program managers
- Work with management to deliver a funding diversification strategy
- With senior management, develop and deliver a donor / donor stewardship strategy
- Investigate Ethical Fund investments
Financial management duties to include:
- Process all accounts payable/receivables
- Posting all accounts payable and deposits/transfers into Quickbooks
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Complete monthly comparative financial reports; and quarterly reports for the Board and program staff
- Provide other financial reports and/or support to program staff, as requested
- Complete financial reports for funder reporting
- Process all banking transactions, and be the contact person for all Bank inquiries
- File Revenue Canada Source Deductions
- Complete GST rebate on a quarterly basis
- Complete year-end financials
- Process WCB Employer Payroll and Contract Labour Report
- Prepare files for annual Audit and liaise with the Auditor
- File Charity Return
- Assist LLC personnel with any financial enquiries, including provision of personal financial references
- Reconcile all bank accounts, paypal, iATS, and all credit cards
- Prepare documentation for senior management approval for all organization expenditure
- Manage all funds via Highrise, and file accordingly
- Post all grants in Quickbooks
- Calculate financials and create all schedule As
- Deliver tax receipts for donations in accordance with CRA regulations
